My pet cat, Hollywood, purring. Recorded October 5th with an Edirol by Roland v. 2.0 R-09HR at 44.1 HZ. I found this cat on my door step in July just before I move into my new house. He was under a pound and looked very sick. He is very smart cat and expressive vocally. He makes sounds that I have never heard from a cat before. This recording is of him purring only because it was easier to record him while he was calm. I do intend to record his other sounds eventually. All sounds were edited in garage band. The "videos" were edited in Final Cut Pro.
My new land line telephone ringing. Recorded October 5 and 6 with an Edirol by Roland v. 2.0 R-09HR at 44.1 HZ. The recording you hear is the one taken on the 6th. I put the recorder under a plastic bowl. I did this to try and mute the sound a bit because the initial recording did not represent the sound close enough to how I hear it in reality.
My dishwasher washing. Recorded September 22th with an Edirol by Roland v. 2.0 R-09HR at 44.1 HZ. Water is a very soothing sound and sometimes if the dishes are arranged a certain way you can hear them clanking against each other. This also causes a repetitive percussive sound.
Radio waves my walk man picked up while driving by the construction on Fry and Hickory street. Recorded Sept 19 with an Edirol by Roland v. 2.0 R-09HR at 44.1 HZ. The tape player in my truck is broken but the tape adapter works. I like listening to tapes and I own a lot of them so I was pretty upset when that happened. This is why I have my walk man hooked up to the stereo. When I was driving to school one day, while I passed the construction, I had major interference. I already enjoy the sound that cell phones make when interfering with the computer so I was very happy when this happened.
